Beau is Afraid

Highly recommend. First act is what being in cities often feels like.

Absurdist Thriller/Comedy
United States, 2023
Directed By Ari Aster

Poor Things

Probably the most beautiful looking movie I've seen. All the acting is incredible and I found its story entertaining the whole way through.

Absurdist Comedy
Ireland, Britain, United States, 2023
Directed By Yorgos Lanthimos

Longlegs

Everything was pretty cool except I found the ending underwhelming.

Horror
United States, 2024
Directed By Osgood Perkins

House

Super cool concept! Combining graphic design + film was an excellent choice for the story, which was written by the directors 10-year old daughter. A good example of mixed media. Has a very unique vibe.

"Horror"
Japan, 1977
Directed By Nobuhiko Obayashi

A Better Tomorrow

"Do you believe in God?" "I am God"; Hardest line ever.

Action
Hong Kong, 1986
Directed By John Woo

Woman in the Dunes

Pretty stellar film. Getting the sand to look that good on the technology they had at the time must have been a huge pain. The existentialism themes were also pretty neat.

Thriller
Japan, 1964
Directed By Hiroshi Teshigahara
Based on book of same name by Kōbō Abe

Men

Don't know what this one wants me to think about "the moral of the story" which may be the point. I thought the ending sequence was sick.

Horror
Britain, 2022
Directed By Alex Garland
